"We're Singing the Blues"

What do you think of "We're Singing the Blues" for the name of this quilt? It is for our preacher and his wife as a going away gift. I got it quilted today! Yeah! BIG meandering sure does go fast! Now I just need to get the binding on. I found a navy blue print that I am going to use for that.
Now I can get quilting on the coffee pineapple quilt for DH. I am thinking about calling that one "Leftover Coffee". DH usually makes a pot of coffee a couple of days a week and drinks one cup hot. The rest he puts in the frig for iced coffee for the rest of the week. I think he actually prefers the iced coffee. He has been trying for 15 years to get me to drink coffee, mixing in chocolate and anything else sweet to make it more palatable. He is persistent!
Anyone else get to quilt today?

  1. Singing the Blues is a great name for the quilt! Y'all are probably singing the blues that they're leaving and the quilt is . . blue!

I'm going to load a quilt tonight . . does that count as quilting?

  5. Love your "...Blues" quilt, Sarah! It turned out just swell. Your pastor and his wife are going to have such fond memories tied to this quilt...awesome gift!

I LOVE your "Leftover Coffee" idea. I think maybe hubby can give up on you with the coffee...but maybe he can just buy coffee fab for you, eh?! (You can tell him I said that!) ;-)

The only time that I've liked cold coffee is when my two daughters and I had a coffee flavored shake...oh how luscious!!! (You might even like it, Sarah?)

  7. The quilt looks great Sarah, a whole lot better than the tree skirt I am struggling with..LOL.

And what cute turtles..the kids will love them, and they are pretty hardy. I love the designs also..wonder if they are the "paintbox" turtle sold commercially?
