A little about my day...

Today was a "boys will be boys" kind of day. Actually more like "Boys will trip over anything available and hurt themselves." I know Nina has a lot of those days around her house! She has already been witness to one of Ian's lip busting events! When he was two he bit through his lip and through the skin below his lip. He has a cute little scar right below his lip. Today he tripped over who know what and whacked his mouth on the seat of a dining room chair. UGH - so much blood! He knocked two of his top teeth backwards - but not out. The dentist looked at them and said to bring him back in a few days when his lip isn't so swollen and he will x-ray them to see what he did to the roots. He said if they develop an abcess he will have to pull them. He may have to sedate both me and Ian for that! Poor little guy has a HUGE swollen lip. Hopefully we will have a better day tomorrow.

I also got my four patch top put together. It is not quite as big as I was expecting. It will need a big wide border to be a useable size but I think it turned out really cute!

Ok, off to bed for this weary mama!

  5. Poor, poor, baby! I can't tell if he is smiling in the picture or not, but he looks like he is either ready to crow about his owee, or cry. It hurts me just to look at it!

  6. Sarah, sorry to hear about Ian's fall. My middle daughter fell on a cement floor when she was about 10 and broke off her 2 front teeth! The thing that upset me the most was that they were her adult teeth and would never be the same! Well we lucked out. The dentist tried to bond them on, thinking it would never work if the roots were damaged, but she still has her own teeth and they are nice and white. You can only tell if you are close to her - you see the crack and the chips on the edges. But it could have been way worse - so anyway, the meaning of this is - it may not be what you would hope for, but there is SO MUCH they can do and may turn out ok.

  7. Poor Ian. Tell him he looks just like Arnold does after his motocycle accident. He does, too. Love the little four patch. Very sweet!

  8. My blonde boy loosened his front teeth when he was about three...he tripped over my foot and landed face first on the sidewalk! Fortunately, they tightened up on their own. And he got a big, fat, purple lip right before he left for Army basic training when the airbag smacked him...fortunately (again!) that was the only injury he sustained. Ian looks like a little charmer, fat lip and all!!
